LOLER is the prime source of information and guidance with respect to legislation concerning onshore and offshore lifting operations and lifting equipment. It was prepared by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) and includes: (a) ‘The Regulation’ (b) Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) (c) Guidance material.
Offshore application LOLER applies offshore. The HSW Act applies by virtue of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (Application outside Great Britain) Order 1995 (SI 1995/263).
This LOLER Awareness course covers all aspects of the (new) Regulations which include: • Codes of Practice • Guidance • Strength and stability • Lifting equipment for lifting persons • Positioning and installation • Marking of lifting equipment • Organisation of lifting operations • Thorough examination and inspection • Reports and defects • Keeping of information • Information to be contained in a report of a thorough examination.
Companies must now be able to provide evidence that their, contractors, and staff have the training, competency and knowledge to work safely in the oil and gas industry. Intended for: Mechanics/Technicians or Supervisory/Foreman level personnel who are required to plan lifting operations, organise the administration of lifting operations, and/or set-up/complete lifting equipment records. The course content can be varied to concentrate on the aspects of LOLER that most interest/apply to the client. Course duration: Normally 1 day, but can vary with depth of coverage required Certification An Enermech Certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course. |
