Introduction This is a one-day course for anyone who requires a working understanding of COSHH Regulations 1994 and their practical applications in the workplace. This course is aimed at the ‘deck/workshop’ guy doing his everyday job that may involve him/her handling dangerous substances and who are not responsible for completing Risk Assessments. The syllabus will mix theory with practical and where possible will relate to the work experience of delegates. Candidates will be invited to complete a written test at the end of the course. Course Content Contains a mixture of lectures and practical exercises designed to give delegates a hands-on appreciation. Practical assessment, inspection, reports and recommendations of action. Including: • Basic toxicology • Basic Principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace • Legislation overview • Hazard identification • COSHH assessment case studies • PPE Personal Protective Equipment • Substances (COSHH) • Accident causation • Site appraisal • Accident prevention
